2015 Laurent Tribut Chablis

Benefitting from familial ties to Chablis legend Vincent Dauvissat, Laurent Tribut (now with daughter Solange by his side) crafts truly exceptional A.O.C. Chablis. By law, Chablis must be made from 100% Chardonnay grown in the cool, continental climate surrounding this eponymous north-central French village. The shorter growing season combined with warm days and cool nights results in the structured, mineral-driven style of Chardonnay that the region is famous for. Tribut’s is textbook, with bracing acidity acting as the rigid backbone to which flavors of crisp orchard fruit, tart citrus, and saline minerality cling. Deep and textural, it benefits greatly from decanting; an hour proved necessary for the bouquet to fully reveal itself and the wine to unwind.
