Self Isolation : Day # 33
2008 Pazo Señorans ‘Selección de Añada’ Albariño
Purchased on recommendation from a local bottle shop, this might just be the most impressive Albariño I’ve tasted to date. Seamless in its construction with rich, layered flavors that are brightened by a frame of refreshing, saline acidity. Voluminous both in aroma and flavor, with ripe peach, nectarine, and mango notes livened by accents orchard blossom, cream, sea salt, and lemon juice. Savory suggestions of preserved lemon peel and salted lime begin to emerge as the flavors slowly mellow and dissipate, adding to the wine’s captivating character. It’s almost like being able to taste the fruits of the ocean and orchard at the same time.
